The Danish Girl (2015) 5 out of 5

As many Working Title movies have in the past, The Danish Girl managed to hook me in as well from the get go. Working Title has produced beautiful works of moving picture art from Anna Karenina, The Theory of Everything and also an old favourite of mine, Elizabeth: The Golden Age. This movie stars none other than, Eddie Redmayne (aka Eponine’s Marius and Mr. Hawking) and Alicia Vikander (Kitty from Anna Karenina and Ava from Ex Machina). Eddie never disappoints and Alicia Vikander managed to play the leading lady immaculately. What comes to mind is that she’s the next Ellen Page! If you have a heart, complete or broken, you WILL cry. For me, The Danish Girl is my most favourite movie for 2015. Last year, it was The Imitation Game with Kill Your Darlings coming in a very close second. Working Title has consistently produced movies with powerful story lines, solid screenplays and no doubt, have given actors the opportunity to challenge themselves to be play inspiring characters. Yes. Please watch. Bring tissues and grab your blankie, pets and significant other.
